The backstrokers were back to it today in the 100. Ashlyn in in the C Final with a 1:02.8, Nick in the C with a 57.7 and Adam in the B with a 55.3. Great swimming!
Geoff Mykleby swam to 3rd place at the World Masters Championships in Montreal, Canada with a time of 33.2 in the 50 M back! Finishing 3rd is amazing, finishing 3rd after a major scare with cancer and a surgery that zapped his upper back just 14 months ago makes it even sweeter! Two days ago Geoff came 2nd in the 100 M back at 1:11.9 for the Silver medal! Let's see those medals!

Ashlyn moved up in the C Final and swam to a near best in the 100 M back 1:02.67 - great work for outside and what a great year! Nick swam just .03 slower than his fine prelims swim and Adam raced in the B Final but was pretty gassed. The guys had to get right back at it in the 4 x 100 MR with just two heats of women and finished just out of the scoring at 17th. The women, had they been able to duplicate their effort...

Schroeder kept it rolling tonight with three fine efforts in the 50 Back. Ashlyn moved up to second in the C Final, Nick moved up to 6th in the C Final and Adam grabbed 8th in the Champinship heat. Three very fine backstrokers! Tomorrow the same trio extends to the 100 M back and the men have a Medley Relay.
Another good session on Day 3 in Prelims. Nick was out very fast in the 100 Fly and suffered toward the end of the race and did not get a second swim (55.5). Ashlyn and Nick both are in the C Final of the 50 M Back and Adam is 7th in the 50 M Back. All three had some trouble with sun and hitting the lane line so tonight may be better!

With the Good Year blimp circling above and on a perfect night for swimming, Ashlyn crushed it in the 200 Back breaking her on Team Record and setting a new State mark in the process. Her time now stands at 2:14.85. Tomorrow Nick goes the 100 Fly and Ashlyn and Adam are in the 50 Back.
BY ALAN GOLDBERG//COMPETITIVEDGE.COM THE PROBLEM I was talking to a swimmer just this morning who shared with me a familiar, incredibly frustrating story. She was very close to her Olympics Trials cut for the last Olympics and hoping to make the team to represent her country. Everyone around her – her teammates, coach, parents and even this athlete herself – were convinced she'd qualify. This was because she was easily doing the time in practice. However, with each meet that went by, she kept missing the...
Ashlyn moved into the C Final in the 200 back with a very fine 2:15.13 - under her own record time. Alex raced a good 200 free and while she moved up the rankings, she did not get a second swim. Adam and Nick raced well in the 50 M fly. Nick just narrowly missed getting a second swim.

Bad news / Good news is the story from day 1 prelims. Last night while warming up Hannah really jammed her hand into the lane line. She iced and wrapped the hand and tried this morning and then went to urgent care after her race. Spiral Fracture of the metacarpal - that's the bone in the hand that connects to the ring finger. Ashlyn swam to a best in the 100 Free at 57.5 and Alex is back in the C Final at 56.4. The men have a...
