  35 supporters of the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center and its programs gathered at the home of Suzanne and Andy Hall to hear the details of the 2012 Olympic Capital Campaign.  All of Schroeder's programs were represented including Masters / Triathletes, Age Group Swimmers and Divers.  Learn more about the challenges and goals that the Campaign seeks to address.

The WSAC will be offering a lifeguarding class in August.  People interested in the class should email Lindsay Newport.  You can only take the class if you intend to lifeguard at the WSAC (it can be very limited hours). The class will not run unless we have at least 6 participants. It will be: August 11 & 12,  9:00 AM - 5:00 PM August 18 & 19, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Cost is $70 (includes lifeguard, first aid, cpr pro/aed)  

  Jeff's mom reported today that Jeff is doing much better.  The goal is to be walking by 8/15 and back to swim in October!  Stay Strong Jeff!

  Over the past 4 years the WSAC has subcontracted lifeguard services through the YMCA.  Starting on September 1st, we will no longer be using the YMCA's service for this.  Please spread the word to your family and friends that we are currently accepting applications for lifeguard positions at the WSAC.  It is preferred that applicants are already certified in lifeguarding but we are planning to run a training in late August for people who are not currently certified.   If you have any further questions please contact Lindsay Newport...

  Schroeder finished with two more scores at opposite ends of the race spectrum.  Kimmy Roos swam a strong mile narrowly missing the sub-18:00 mark and she finished 16th overall.  Abi Raatz swam to 6th place in the 50 M free with new best time of 26.75 - great meet!  

Schroeder swimmers Rachel Thomas, MJ Voss, Ari Sparapani and Sydney Hallmark all raced in a sprint Tri this weekend in Cedarburg.  Rachel and MJ won their respective age groups!
